My Guarantee
I give a two year guarantee on my workmanship. It runs from the date on your invoice, which is the day the work was finished.
If you’d rather ring and ask than read the rest, that’s fine too. The number is 07584 865427.
What it covers
My labour and my fitting. If something fails because of how I did the work, I’ll put it right at no cost to you, labour and materials both. You don’t pay for my mistakes.
What it doesn’t cover
The parts themselves. Those come with their own manufacturer warranties:
- Victron: 5 years
- Autoterm: 3 years
Those warranties are better than anything I could offer on my own. That’s a big part of why I fit those brands.
If a part fails, I’ll help you claim. You won’t be left working out warranty paperwork on your own.
Where warranty work happens
Here in Llanfairfechan, so the van will need to come back to me.
I’m generally not able to travel out to customers, and I can’t cover the cost of getting the van here. You will need to return the van to my workshop for any work to be done.
The guarantee covers putting the work right
If something I fitted fails, I’ll put it right. However I can’t cover anything else that follows from it — travel and fuel, accommodation, time off work, a trip you missed, a booking you had to cancel.
Not covered
- Fair wear and tear
- Accidental damage
- Misuse
- Damage caused by freezing or by water ingress unrelated to my work
Things working loose is normal
A campervan is a road vehicle. It vibrates. Everything inside it gets shaken every mile you drive.
So fittings work loose over time. Screws need a nip up, fixings want checking. That happens in all road going vehicles, it isn’t a sign the work was done badly.
Treat your campervan’s maintenance like you would anything else. Have a look round every so often and tighten what needs tightening. If you’re not sure whether something is an actual fault, ring me and ask. I’d far rather answer that than have you worrying about it, or leaving something that does need attention.
Checking and tightening is maintenance. It isn’t warranty work.
If someone else works on it, the guarantee ends
The guarantee on that whole system is void immediately, whoever it is.
Once someone else has been inside a system I built, I’ve no way of knowing what’s been changed. I can’t stand behind work that’s no longer only mine.
It transfers if you sell the van
It stays with the vehicle, as long as nobody has worked on the installation in the meantime, and that includes you.
How to claim
Ring me on 07584 865427. A phone call is enough to start it, and there’s no form to fill in.
I might ask you to follow it up with a short email to ben@bbvans.uk so there’s a record of what happened and when. It doesn’t need to be formal. A couple of lines and a photo is plenty.
And in short
I want you to feel confident and happy with the work I’ve done. If there’s ever an issue, ring me or let me know, and I’ll always do what I can to put it right.
