Most people would rather not cut a hole in the side of a van they’ve just paid for, and a mistake there is hard to undo. I supply and fit campervan windows at my workshop in Llanfairfechan.

Does it matter where the glass comes from?
I don’t name my supplier, but I use a good one.
The cheap glass sold by the big public-facing suppliers is often slightly warped, so it doesn’t sit flush against the panel. A warped window can still be perfectly watertight. It just looks wrong. You notice it every time you walk past the van.
Will you fit windows I’ve bought myself?
I’ll fit customer-supplied windows. I’ll ask you where they came from, because it tells me what I’m dealing with before I start cutting.
I can guarantee the seal, but not a perfect finish, because that comes down to the glass. If what you’ve bought is warped, I can fit it and make it watertight. I can’t make it sit flat against a panel it was never going to sit flat against.
My fitting is covered by my two year workmanship guarantee.
Can you fix a leaking window?
If a window is letting water in, that’s a job I’ll take on, including on windows I didn’t fit.
Be ready for what a proper repair involves though. The window generally has to come out. Sealant smeared round the outside of a leaking window just postpones the problem while the water carries on getting into the panel behind it. A leak gets fixed by bedding the window back in on fresh sealant.
Can you take a window out?
Windows can come out for good too, if you’re changing the layout inside or panelling over one that’s in the wrong place. Some people have them out before selling the van on.
How much does it cost?
I need to speak to you or see the van before I can quote. It depends on the vehicle, the panel, and how many windows of what type. A number off a page wouldn’t mean anything. A phone call is enough for most jobs.

Cutting into bodywork and getting a seal right isn’t a driveway job, so the van comes to my workshop in Llanfairfechan.
